PARENTING SCHOOL WITH THE SUPPORT OF LUKOIL SRBIJA

Workshops within the "Parenting Schools" supported by LUKOIL SRBIJA were intended for parents of children and young people with mental disabilities. The first school was held for nine parents and six children with disabilities, while the second parenting school was attended by nine parents of youths with developmental disabilities and seven young people.
During the four-day programs, all parents went through various structured and guided activities. Psychological workshops were held with the aim of empowering parents as individuals, practicing interpersonal relationships with their neighbors and practicing how to expand their social support network. During that time, young people with disabilities attended life skills learning workshops, creative workshops and participated in recreation. In addition, joint activities for parents and children were held such as guided gymnastics, walks, outdoor fun activities which allowed parents and children, in addition to learning various skills, to enjoy and be in contact with nature.
The director of the organization "Dečje srce" Goran Rojević thanked LUKOIL for recognizing the benefit of the program and enabling it to be implemented. After completing both programs, all parents expressed their satisfaction with the acquired knowledge and their desire to continue such programs in the future.
In this manner, the company continued to help this humanitarian organization, since with the support of LUKOIL SRBIJA, last fall, in Zlatibor, the 105th "School of life skills" was held for 20 people with developmental disabilities, who learned to take care of themselves, others and their environment.
