SERBIA IS HOSTING THE LUKOIL CHILDREN’S FOOTBALL CUP

International football qualification tournament "LUKOIL Children’s Championship Cup 2014", under the auspices of the LUKOIL Sports Club and Company “LUKOIL”, is taking place from 10 to 12 June on football grounds of the Belgrade “Čukarički” Football Club. For a place in final round will compete teams of young players born in 2002 from Italy, Russia, Iran, Bulgaria and Serbia. The tournament promoter is the captain of the Serbian national football team, Branislav Ivanović.
The qualification tournaments of the "LUKOIL Children’s Championship Cup 2014" are played under the UEFA “No to Racism” slogan, uniting well-known football players and children’s teams from 22 countries of Europe and Asia. The tournaments in Belgium, Latvia, Bulgaria and Romania already took place, and the tournament in Serbia is the fifth one. The winners of these competitions will meet at the end of August in final tournament in Istanbul, Turkey, under the name of one of the most famous football players in the world, Roberto Carlos.
The qualification tournament in Serbia was organised for the first time last year. Young “Crvena Zvezda” football players were better than their peers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary, continuing after that a series of victories at the final tournament last year in Burgas, Bulgaria, and winning the "LUKOIL Children’s Championship Cup 2013”. The Crvena Zvezda team won this title by conquering the winners of the qualification tournaments played in six groups, from May to September, with the participation of teams from 23 countries. “LUKOIL” has been the sponsor of the Children’s Football League of the Russian Federation since 2001.
