Today, on May 9, the Victory Day over fascism, at noon sharp, the international event "Immortal regiment" started, in memory of all who fought against fascism. The walk started from the Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators, past the Monument to Vuk Karadžić, via the Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra Street to the City Assembly, where the special program was organized.

Several hundreds of Belgrade citizens, including the descendants of those killed in World War II, gathered at the Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators carrying the flags of Serbia, Russia, Cuba, former Yugoslavia and the portraits of the fallen war heroes. They were joined by the City Manager, Goran Vesić and Aleksandar Chepurin, Russian Ambassador to Serbia.

On the Cemetery of Belgrade Liberators wreaths were laid on behalf of LUKOIL SERBIA by the representatives of our Company, headed by Director General, Igor Semenichev.

The event was preceded by the live broadcast of the Moscow Victory Day Parade at the Company Headquarters.

This celebration has been initiated in the 60s of the last century, in the Soviet Union, when the pupils went out to the streets, carrying portraits of their family members killed in the fight for the freedom of their homeland. Last year, the event was held in almost 40 countries including the USA, Germany, Britain, France, Austria, Italy, China and for the first time Serbia, including many other countries where the "Immortal regiment" organized walks in several cities.
