CITY OF BELGRADE AND LUKОIL CONCLUDE A COOPERATION AGREEMENT FOR 2017

At the Old Palace today, the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Andreja Mladenović, and the General Manager of "LUKОIL SRBIЈА”, Igоr Sеmеnychеv, signed a Cooperation Agreement for 2017. The 22.5 million dinar Agreement is a continuation of cooperation between the City of Belgrade and the Company "LUKOIL" in the implementation and financing of projects in the fields of sports, culture, science and social protection.
Mladenović thanked the Company "LUKOIL" for its cooperation, understanding and for recognizing of the importance of this collaboration.
- This cooperation was begun last year when LUKOIL, as a socially responsible Company, invested funds in certain projects implemented in our capital, from the field of culture. To this end, we formed a special interdepartmental committee which works together with representatives of this Company in resolving extremely important issues for the functioning of LUKOIL, and the City of Belgrade, when it comes to property, urban planning and other issues that arise during the course of business – Mladenović said.
He stressed that the Agreements signed in the last two years are the result of this cooperation.
- Last year LUKOIL donated 20 million dinars and helped organize and implement very important festivals such as FEST, the documentary and short film festival, as well as the restoration of a hall at the Children's Cultural Centre. And we wish to thank them for that, but they did not stop there, this year, the Agreement has been increased by an additional 2.5 million dinars which means that with a total of 22.5 million dinars they will help the festival and some new cultural manifestations. This Company will pay particular attention to certain city municipalities, with Zemun being the first one this year with its sports grounds and parks - said the Deputy Mayor.
Mladenović said that this is a significant example of how large companies, working and operating on the territory of Belgrade, can help in various spheres of the City’s life and urged other companies to follow LUKOIL’S example.
The General Manager of the Company "LUKOIL SRBIJA" Igor Semenychev thanked the City for its support in the implementation of its projects.
- LUKOIL is a socially responsible Company, as such we will absolutely implement all the commitments we have undertaken in our joint social and cultural projects. We are concluding this Agreement for the second year in a row because we are completely satisfied with our collaboration and we hope to continue and expand our mutual cooperation in the future – Semenychev said.
The Agreement stipulates that those projects which receive financing are selected at a competition for funding in the fields of sports, culture, ecology, science, social and humanitarian projects.
