{ 5/22/2015 12:00:00 AM }

To the Leskovac Adult and Elderly Care Institution and the Children and Young People Care Institution “Hristina Markišić", Aleksinac, on Tuesday, aid in the form of blankets, pillows, linen, towels, cooking utensils and cutlery was delivered. After closing the Kopaonik holiday residence, the Company Management made a decision to donate the kitchen equipment of very good quality and condition for the use of care institutions. The goal of this humanitarian activity, one more in a row, was to do something more for the community the Company is doing business in. Thus, Leskovac and Aleksinac, as places where “LUKOIL SRBIJA” AD conducts its business for years, were selected.

Handing the donation in the presence of the Leskovac media, Ana Janković, Human Resources and Administrative Director in “LUKOIL SRBIJA” noted: “We have recognized your wish, effort and work, primarily of the Director and staff of this institution to help people, and make their life more beautiful as they get older.” She expressed her hope that this aid won’t stop as regards the company she is representing, and that there will be more such activities in the future, too.

Gordana Savić, Director of the Adult and Elderly Care Institution thanked for the aid and emphasized that it is of utmost importance, particularly to the lodgers, and there are 180 of them. As she stressed, when a house has lodgers of whom the majority are seniors, there is always a desire to help them to improve their standard of living, although there is only a slight possibility to do so. “When they called me from "LUKOIL SRBIJA" a couple of days ago and told me that they intend to give a donation for our kitchen, I was pleasantly surprised and deeply touched,” Gordana Savić said. “There are still good people out there, who even remember us in the south of Serbia, all the way from Belgrade.”

After Leskovac, the small delegation headed toward Aleksinac where it visited Children and Young People Care Institution, where seven care teachers and six auxiliary workers take care of 12 children and young people with severe disabilities. The Manager of the Institution, Srđan Cvetković, said: “We can be really proud of our achievements and consider it a personal success in our work with beneficiaries, namely, it is a fact that three of our beneficiaries left our institution and live in foster families. The best way to prove our work is our emphasis on socialisation and independence of our beneficiaries as well as the fact that they are included in almost all social, sport events in our town and its wider area; also, we succeeded in organizing excursions to the seaside and Mt. Zlatibor, several schools in nature and many other activities, in which our beneficiaries actively participated or even planned them themselves.
